Commanders Coach Accepts Responsibility for Keeping Jayden Daniels in Game Before Significant Injury

The Commanders head coach Coach Quinn has stated he shares a portion of the fault for a major ailment to the team’s quarterback, Daniels.

Particulars of the Injury and Situation

Daniels, who enjoyed one of the greatest rookie campaigns of all time the previous year, sustained a dislocated elbow joint in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Although Daniels passes with his dominant arm, the injury has left his campaign in doubt. The injury was significant enough that the TV coverage did not show repeats and multiple athletes looked away as he was treated by medical staff.

Criticism and Leader’s Response

Quinn came under criticism as numerous felt the rookie should not have been on the field to begin with. The incident happened in the fourth quarter with the Commanders trailing 38-7, rendering a recovery unlikely. It is common in such situations for teams to insert their reserve QB to prevent harm to their starter.

“I understand. I’ve been thinking about it constantly, too, and, man, I erred,” he said of his decision to leave Daniels in the match. “This is 100% on me.”

Fallout and Squad Outlook

Marcus Mariota will be the Commanders’ starting quarterback from now on, but he will guide a roster in disarray. Following making the NFC championship game last season thanks to the rookie’s brilliance, the franchise have faced difficulties this season. They also saw injuries to cornerback Marshon Lattimore (ACL tear) and wide receiver Luke McCaffrey (broken collarbone) on game day, and have a host of other key players on the injury list. The Washington squad are three wins and six losses so far, and it would require a huge reversal for the club to reach the postseason.
