Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now secured the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions seemed to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille fired two times late to take a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking twist of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the final seconds to force the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored with composure for PSG to seal a convincing penalty win.

Now 14-time champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the past 13 seasons.
